The Rolex Datejust is one of the most recognisable and enduring watch collections ever produced. Introduced in 1945 to celebrate Rolex’s 40th anniversary, it became the world’s first self-winding chronometer wristwatch to feature a date display in a window on the dial — a complication that would go on to define the model for generations to come.
Presented here is a particularly cool example of a vintage two-tone, or “Rolesor,” Datejust. The watch remains in outstanding overall condition, retaining strong lugs, crisp proportions and a beautifully preserved case throughout. The yellow gold fluted bezel is equally sharp, catching the light exactly as it should.
The champagne dial features a lovely soleil finish and is distinguished by unusually wider markers at 3 and 9 o’clock — a subtle detail that gives the watch a slightly more distinctive and playful appearance compared to standard configurations.
The steel and gold Jubilee bracelet, reference 62523, remains in very good condition and is fitted with 455 end links and a clasp stamped “F3.”
The watch and its quickset movement have been fully serviced by our watchmaker and are ready for many more years of enjoyment.
