In recent years, collectors have increasingly turned their attention to sports watches from the early 1980s — a fascinating period of transition. One of the main updates of the ref. 16750 over its predecessor, the ref. 1675, was the new movement featuring a quickset date function, allowing the date to be set independently. Early examples of the ref. 16750 feature a matte dial, while later examples came with glossy dials featuring white-gold-surrounded hour markers.
This ref. 16750 is one of those early examples, preserved in very good original condition, with a super-thick case and a lovely black bezel insert.
The matte dial and hands are flawless and match beautifully, having developed a pleasing warm yellow hue.
The watch is fitted with a Jubilee bracelet, ref. 62150H, with 550 end links and a clasp stamped “E”. Furthermore, it comes with its original Rolex inner and outer boxes, as well as the holder for the warranty paper. Please note that the original warranty paper itself is not included.
This cool transitional GMT-Master has been checked by our watchmaker and is ready for many more years of enjoyment.
