When a tool watch is rare…
The Rolex Seadweller is, in our opinion, possibly the ultimate tool watch and we are delighted to offer this fantastic example of the original Seadweller reference 1665. For a short period towards the end of the 1970s, Stern made a Seadweller dial for Rolex that had an unusual text layout in the lower half.
The ‘C’ in Chronometer was aligned with the ‘C’ in certified and collectors gave this dial layout the name Rail Dial. They are rare and highly sought after by collectors, especially when in this condition.
The dial is in outstanding condition with hour plots that have taken on a gentle cream patina. The case is strong with even lugs and crown guards. The black bezel insert is in beautiful with its original tritium pearl in place.
This classic Seadweller will come on a solid link Oyster bracelet reference 93150 with a clasp stamped ‘V 5’ and 585 endlinks. The watch comes with inner and outer boxes, a 1979 calendar card, booklet and wallet. The movement has been fully serviced by our watchmaker.
