Bibliomancers continue their survey of 1970s and 80s occult mass market paperbacks with a new special edition of Occult Eye. It’s the first in the series of collaborations with Public Knowledge Books!

Occult Eye takes a closer look at the world of occult sciences, ESP, parapsychology, countercultural spiritualism, iconography of new religious movements, pagan fashion trends and a special examination of graphic design elements from 1979s gnostic newspapers. The images inside Occult Eye may tell the story of a wider search for meaning during a period of social upheaval following the Vietnam War or betray fears of hidden occult influence fuelled by the Satanic Panic. These dynamics shaped a cultural fascination with the mystical that persists today.

Bibliomaniacs is an independent publishing house based in Los Angeles, specialising in the archival exploration of vintage print design and its relationship to cultural movements.
