The Omega Speedmaster, first introduced in 1957, remains one of the most iconic chronographs ever produced. While it later earned the legendary “Moonwatch” nickname for its role in space exploration, it was originally designed with motorsport in mind.
This particular reference holds special historical importance as the last of the straight-lug Speedmasters, and notably the model worn by Ed White. During the Gemini 4 mission, White became the first American to perform a spacewalk, wearing a Speedmaster reference 105.003 as he exited the capsule using a hand-held oxygen jet maneuvering gun.
The watch itself is in very good overall condition. It features an especially rare and desirable pulsations bezel—designed for measuring heart rate in beats per minute—which has developed a beautiful copper-brown fade over time, perfectly complementing the dial. The dial has aged into a rich milk-chocolate tone and retains all the correct details: “T SWISS T” markings, absence of the “Professional” text, and long hour markers.
This warm, characterful Speedmaster is fitted on an Omega bracelet reference 7912, with end links marked “6” and a clasp stamped “3 65.” It is accompanied by an Omega Extract of the Archives confirming production in 1967 and delivery to the UK. The watch has been fully serviced by our watchmaker and is ready to be enjoyed.
