This Day-Date manages to be both bling-bling and yet understated – not an easy feat. The watch houses a very special string dial. The string refers to the line of small diamonds that circle the dial inside the hour markers, which themselves are set with stunning sapphires. This is a seriously cool watch and perfect for the festive season! The single-quick Day Dates were introduced in 1977 and are actually a little thicker than the later double-quick set watches and so have a greater presence on the wrist.
This 18038 comes with its original papers that show it was sold in by German retailer WEMPE in 1987. The watch retains a strong case and bezel and is in overall beautiful condition. The superb President bracelet has a concealed clasp and the links remain super-tight. The automatic movement has been fully serviced by our watchmaker.
