We’re always happy to offer a gilt-dial GMT-Master in such beautiful, top condition. The term “gilt dial” refers to the gold-colored printing—actually the exposed brass dial plate showing through the glossy black finish. This dial is absolutely stunning: deep, glossy black with a warm patina and evenly aged yellow lume that matches the hands perfectly, including the original small GMT hand. It’s a dial full of vintage charm and character—just the way we like it.
The 40 mm steel case is in top condition. We never use the word “unpolished”—but make up your own mind when you look at those bevels…
The red-backed, fat-font Pepsi insert remains vibrant and clean, showing no major marks. It has faded beautifully to a super-nice matte azure blue, with a lemonade/ soft pink hue on the red.
This fine GMT comes fitted on a spring-loaded riveted bracelet, reference 6636, with a clasp stamped 2/69, all in lovely condition. Fully serviced by our watchmaker, this early GMT-Master is running perfectly and ready to be enjoyed for many years to come.
Early gilt GMTs are becoming increasingly hard to find in this condition—we highly recommend this bad boy!
