The Submariner Date began its journey in 1969 and has been in continuous production ever since. This reference 16610 is a great example of the now-discontinued model, featuring a beautifully glossy dial and a strong case. The dial is signed “Swiss Made” at the bottom, indicating the hands and hour markers are Luminova—and it remains in flawless condition.
The 40mm steel case is in excellent shape and benefits from vintage-style drilled lug holes. It also features a nicely faded bezel insert that has taken on a subtle dark blue hue. The Oyster bracelet, reference 93250, has solid end links and a clasp marked DT6. It, too, is in great condition.
Also included in the sale is the watch’s original punched warranty paper, documenting its sale in 2002 in France.
